Thrive Therapy
Embrace The Journey
Child /Family Services
Children and youth are our primary client crew because #kidsrock! We serve clients, ages 5-17, providing them with individual and group therapy interventions. We also offer coaching for young people (ages 8-17) through SCOPE Coaching, which provides individual non-clinical executive functioning skill building opportunities to manage acute transitions and meet personal life goals. Finally, we work closely with parenting and caregivers to support and provide resources that strengthens the parent/child relationship.
Emerging Adult/Adults
Transitioning into adulthood is no cake walk. Thrive Therapy provides clinical interventions for young adults as they shift into adulthood. We aim to assist them in their healing journey by providing individual, small group therapy and community opportunities so they can continue to grow. Life Enrichment Consultation is available to young adult individuals who are striving to achieve specific life plans, providing them with practical non-clinical guidance to successfully accomplish their goals.
Pediatric Professionals
Working with kids take lots of intention and courage. As a pediatric-centric practice, we know that we cannot effectively serve children unless we, the professional, are healthy. Thrive Therapy can be a part of the journey! We also work professionals who work in child-centric fields – medical, educational, mental health, spiritual and law enforcement – to heal so that they can better work with the kids in their service. Strong community, strong kids!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is therapy?
Therapy is a collaborative process between a person and their therapist that provides a safe, healthy and nurturing environment in which to explore and grow. In this confidential, therapeutic, helping relationship, the therapist acts as a facilitator that allows them space to more accurately understand themselves, their connection with others and the world around them.
What are some common myths about therapy?
Asking for help is a sign of weakness.
It takes a great deal of emotional courage to proactively seek help for issues that may require outside support.
A therapist will fix my problems right away.
The goal of counseling is to help you to explore and identify presenting concerns and collaborate with you to set and achieve your therapy goals. Unfortunately, there is no magic wand or fairy dust in the process. However, there is persistence and resilience and comradery in the therapeutic relationship that makes the challenges all the more manageable. You are the expert of your life; I am simply providing the space you can explore your thoughts, feelings and life patterns without judgment so that you can live out your best life!
A therapist can’t understand what I am going through, because they’re not going through it themselves.
Every individual and life experience is unique so to experience absolute understanding of one’s situation can be a challenge at times. However, Thrive Therapy provides empathy, compassion and cultural humility throughout every session so that we can gain understanding and provide respectful guidance to each client.
Are my counseling sessions kept confidential?
Thrive Therapy follows the professional, legal and ethical guidelines of the National Association of Social Work and the state of Louisiana. Information about your counseling sessions is not shared with anyone without your expressed written permission, with a few exceptions. If there is the possibility of harm to the client or another person, or in cases of child or elder abuse, Thrive Therapy is mandated to report certain information to the appropriate authorities. Please feel free to request more information about confidentiality.
How long will I have to be in counseling?
Many problems can be dealt with in a brief period of time, but this is not always the case. There is no magic session number or therapeutic formula to determine how long it may take. During your initial intake assessment, you and your therapist will have a conversation around how to best meet your therapeutic needs. If your counseling needs require a clinician who specializes in a particular area of need, you may receive a referral if we cannot accommodate. We will explore your progress in session and determine when you have met your therapy goals together.
How long does the average session last?
Appointments range from 60-90 minutes. The standard length of a counseling session is 60-minutes. If you are interested in a longer session (up to 90 minutes) please contact me regarding availability and pricing.
